At Leaders in Life School & Sports Camps, our fun filled activities for kids are geared towards fostering the development of skills such as confidence, self-belief, and communication. We guide and motivate each group member to strive to reach their goals, encouraging social and personal development.
Leaders in Life’s facilitators are trained for each activity and encourage team spirit throughout youth camp. We want youths that experience camp at Leaders in Life, to really believe in themselves and the potential they have to make a difference in the world.
We would like each child to experience the pride and loyalty that exists when you are part of a team and to understand that team spirit is the key to success. Our core value is that teamwork really does make the dream work!!
Situated on the banks of the Sundays River, we have the privilege of offering the perfect paddling conditions on calm safe waters. Whether paddling in our canoes or crossing the river on a raft that they have just built kids are guaranteed to have fun. Water fun for any level of competence and great way to cool down on those hot summer days.
Tent building is one of our first activities on camp, a great ice breaker requiring team work and communication. Setting up and sleeping in a tent is a first for many of our campers, creating great excitement and a sense of achievement.
Nothing combines teamwork, competitiveness, communication and fun, as much as our team build games. Our staff are present to motivate each team member to strive to reach their goals, encouraging social and personal development. We offer an array of different team building activities that allows kids to work together and combine their different skill sets.
A hike up to Percy Fitzpatrick’s grave and Look Out monument (author of Jock of the Bushveld) . Kids get to take in the view of the beautiful Sundays River Valley with the challenge of partaking in a quiz about the history and geography of the valley afterwards.
Teams put their outdoor skills to test with various challenges that require out of the box thinking and team work. Each team is given a set of instructions and materials to accomplish the task at hand. Lets see who has the best survivor skills!
A highlight of camp is combining the previous days activities all into one fun filled amazing race, with all teams having to compete against one another, to top off their time on camp with us.
On the base of an active citrus farm, a guided tour through the orchards, capped off with a quiz of the knowledge learnt, is a great way for pupils to soak up some citrus knowledge and test themselves amongst each other.
At the end of an activity-fuelled day at our youth camp, pupils can braai around the fire and put their culinary skills to test with our potjie competition. Skits is always a great way for the kids to get creative in the evening, or stargazing on a clear African night is a way for kids to unwind before bedtime.
While recognising the importance of keeping pupils busy with our wide range of fun kids activities, we also allocate time for them to unwind and interact with one another outside their allocated teams. There is the river to swim or fish in, table tennis to challenge one another, shoot the hoop and a full size rugby field to run around on.
Adrenalin Addo’s zipline and giant swing can be added to your school camp activity schedule at an additional cost, if you wish.
